Denmark and Sweden: The Oresundsbron Bridge

One of the most important things that Susan and Oresundsbron Bridge shows us is the importance of bridges. Susan mentions that bridges are Strategic: they enhance the opportunity of development in both cultural and economical matters.

Oresundsbron Bridge is the result of the continuous expansion of Copenhagen (Capital city of Denmark) and helps not only this city but also the whole country producing more employment through the construction of the bridge.

It also have help to develop a new educational strategy: Both Universities –Sweden and Denmark Universities- have now a policy that helps the students interchange to improve the knowledge of a different culture taking advantage of the similarity of the languages.

This bridge is a “road bridge” –A Suspension Bridge- that also includes a tunnel. Its characteristics help to implement a new transportation pattern: the ferries are not longer used to transport supplies; the bridge facilitates the connection between these countries improving the economical interchange even with Norway.
